28 April 2025 – Parcent to Murla

Took this photo to put on the Maureen and Lorraine Camino Walk WhatsApp to show our support for their challenge

Once again the area was looking very colourful, even the wall of this house

A sunny morning helped to show this view of the Green Horse at its best

There were 18 of us today

Including Lynn and Barry who hadn’t walked for some time

And also Barry and Linda who have just arrived for a short visit

Jenny and Pierre also brought along a guest

Chris has a holiday home in Denia, but is thinking of moving to Spain permanently

We could not have had a better day, or group, to encourage him to do so

He certainly seemed to enjoy the walk and loved the area

Thanks to Paula for sending me some photos, including this one

I had worried that the water might be too high after the recent rain

But there was only a small stream in the middle of the otherwise dry river bed

Linda was pleased that it was a “social walk”, meaning room for two or more to walk together

Murla was, as always, very quiet

With lots of space for us all outside the church

Claire lost her expensive sun glasses, she thought possibly during our banana break

She didn’t miss them until we had started our return journey

We waited whilst Tim and Pierre went back to the square with her

Unfortunately they did not find them there

The rest of us continued the route back to Parcent

They returned on the outward track to look for the sun glasses

Unfortunately they were unable to find them

So unfortunately it was a smaller group than expected at the Cooperativa after the walk

Temperature – 18 to 21c

Time Taken – 3 hours

Distance – 9 km

21 April 2025 – Jalon to Alcalali Ermita

Maureen arrived in the van, which she personally converted to a camper van for her challenging Camino de Santiago walk which starts on Wednesday

There were 19 of us for today’s walk

The weather forecast was for a sunny morning

And we were not disappointed

Lovely clear and sunny morning

I expected the valley to be busy on such a lovely Easter Monday

But in fact we hardly saw anyone else throughout the walk

Lovely walking weather, but we still sought out shade for our water breaks

We had two new walkers today

Maria is a friend of Yolanda

She lives in Cataluna but is hoping to move to the valley

She certainly saw it at it’s best today

Teresa’s husband Andy joined us for his first walk with the group

He works full time and it was nice to finally meet him

We didn’t see many walkers today, but we all admired this lovely horse and rider

The valley was particularly attractive after the recent rain

Masses of colourful flowers looking their best in the Spring sunshine

All of our walks are enjoyable, but even more so today

We are well into the non resident season

And it was great to see Claire and Tim

There are here for a three month stay

So we hope to see a lot of them whilst they are here

There may not have been many people around during our walk

But it was very busy at bar Claudia

We were so spread out that I didn’t take the usual bar photo

Temperature – 18 to 22c

Time Taken – 3 hours

Distance – 9 km
