25 walking today, one of our largest
groups
It included a new member Jim, a friend
of Lorraine and Adrian
And also Paul who joined us at short
notice
The group numbers are increasing
We have 18 residents and 16 non residents
Fortunately a lot are not available at any time
This week there are 4 residents not
available
This includes Maureen and Lorraine walking the Camino Santiago
And Paula and John on holiday in
Barcelona
However there are also 7 non residents
here for different periods
Almost all have been members for more than a year
So they all know each other
This makes it less important if we exceed our preferred maximum of 16 per walk
It is also very difficult to say no to
anyone who supports the group when they can
Gone, for now, are the days when we
had to worry about recruiting
I am more concerned that the numbers
may continue to increase
The bigger the group the more likely it is to create cliques
But fortunately we have avoided that problem with the current members
It is also more difficult to seat the group together in the bar at the end of the walk
We always liked to sit everyone
together at the same table
But that is becoming ever more
difficult with larger numbers
It is ok at the cooperativa in Parcent
But impossible in Jalon, Lliber and Alcalali
However that is a small enough problem
And only important when there are new members
Then we make sure that they are not
left sitting on their own
No problem today in Alcalali
Now that Bar Toni is open again after
refurbishing the square
This is perhaps the most important part of the whole walk
Temperature – 18 to 21c
Time Taken – 3 hours
Distance – 9 km
