Another lovely sunny and warm morning
Warm enough to be in shirtsleeves even
at the very start of the walk
There were sixteen of us today
12-16 is my ideal number so very
pleased today
It included Pam’s daughter Kara
She walked with us for the first time
last April
Nice that she wanted to do so again
during her visit this year
With high temperatures again this
week, it felt more like a summer walk
But fortunately there was a lot of
shade on this walk
And we had sufficient water stops
Thanks to Tina and Paula for send their photos of the walk
This walk involves a little more
climbing than some others
So we were looking for shade to have
our water and banana stops
I was surprised that quite a few of the group had not done this walk before
We last did it on 9 December last year
But there were six who had not done it
before
Members vary each week, particularly as the group gets larger
For example there were seven resident members
missing this week
So perhaps it is not so surprising
that so many had not done it before
We did a slight detour this time
We returned to the village through the
cemetary
That sounds a little strange
But it was interesting to see how the coffins were placed in the wall rather than under ground
And to see the photos of each person
on the plaque of each one
Perhaps a little sad
But we soon cheered up when we reached
the bar in the sunny square
By far my favourite square of all in the area
Temperature – 18 to 22c
Time Taken – 3 hours
Distance – 9 km
