There was a good turnout despite a forecast of 32c at midday and storm warning at 1500
18 of us walking today, including the welcome return of Dave
Also Lorraine and Maureen on their first walk since their 800km Camino challenge
Paul and Kathryn also joined us for
their first walk with the group
I had planned to do our regular walk along the pipeline
However I changed to this much easier
walk due to the forecast of high temperatures
We also started at 0830, half an hour
earlier than usual for a summer walk
The first half of the walk was cloudy and pleasant
We did not really notice that there is no shade at the mirador
And the sun was just starting to make an appearance
No one was having problems with the heat
as we began the return journey
Thanks to Tina for this one, taken
during one of our many water stops
We has a water stop every half hour,
and managed to drink all of our water
It was nice to meet up with Dave
again, and catch up on his news
We took advantage of any shade for our
water breaks
And were glad that this route has a
little more shade than the more direct one back to Parcent
However it was getting much warmer when there was no break from the direct sun
The distraction of being in a group
helped a lot
But everyone was pleased as we
approached Parcent
There was enough shade for all of us to sit outside at the Cooperative
Where we had a very pleasant after
walk drink and chat
Most of the group had coffee as we got
there about 1115
Another very enjoyable walk with a great group
Temperature – 25 to 31c
Time Taken – 3 hours
Distance – 8 km
