1 December 2025 – Parcent to Alcalali

The weather forecast was high chance of rain all morning

We quite expected rain when we met in Parcent

And were prepared to go straight to the cooperative if necessary

So we were very pleasantly surprised to find light cloud and blue sky

The last six days had been warm and sunny

But it was quite cold today

Everyone was well wrapped up

But it was very comfortable walking

And quite warm when we had our banana stop at the Alcalali mirador

In fact many of the group would have liked to sit in the sun a little longer

There were 21 walking today

Including Jan who had missed two weeks due to a severe tummy bug

It was largely because she wanted to walk that we disregarded the weather forecast

I have recovered from my fall last week

Though I did have a very obvious plaster on my nose

Once again we had a lot of late cancellations

In fact six did so over the weekend

Had they done so earlier we could have offered a walk to the short reserve list

But the cancellations were too late to do so

There are currently 27 resident members and 16 non resident

But of course the more members the more who are unable walk each week

I expect that numbers available to walk each week will reduce in December

Less non residents coming and more residents going back to the UK for the festive season

Bar Cooperativa in Parcent is open again under new management

It is by far the best bar for such a large group

And it was warm enough to sit outside on the terrace

Lovely walk, particularly as we had such low expectations of the weather

Temperature – 14c

Time taken – 3 hours

Distance – 9km
